060 Polar Plunge

Week 26:2

The "Polar Plunge" or mid winter swim is not for the faint hearted. It was very very cold. As soon as I got in the water my feet went numb closely followed by my legs. I managed to dive under twice before deciding enough was enough.

11:31 am  16/7/06. Air Temp: Water Temp: .

Thank you to Joel for being as stupid as me and our support crew (Nic, Kim, Mel and Mark) for great hot chocolate, towels and photographic evidence. (Kids don't try this at home!)

Comfort: Very very very cold water...

Good work fellas. Despite being from the freezing arctic circle of Merseyside, there was no way I was going in there with you so well done. The old by standing grannies thought it very amusing too - especially when you held up the "I'm stupid" sign. Note for everyone viewing this site: Flacker's has published these photos in black and white because at the time, he was purple and blue! - Mark
