030 Take two kids to the movies

Week 14:2

I had been challenged to take someone else’s kids (a four yearr old and a ten year old) to the movies and you think how hard can this be... well here is a couple of tips. It was pretty easy really.

Tip 1 - Choose the right Radio station
I started off well by picking the right radio station for the ten year old (The Edge)

Tip 2 - Become a creative liar/Storyteller
Telling the 4 yearr old that his booster seat was actually an ejection seat and my car was a "Starcedes"- a racing car built for midgets (children will believe anything).

Tip 3 - Organise the food and drink in advance
Make sure they are easy opening bottles and packets and they have the same amount of food so there are no arguments.

Tip 4 - Multi-tasking
Opening the food and drink in the middle of the movies and trying to answer questions about the movie, during the movie when you just missed a vital part of the movie because you were answering questions about the movie and opening the food and drink for the movie.

Tip 5 - Every good challenge should have tears.
The 4 year old just started crying at the end of the movie and I had no idea what was wrong- Luckily for me the ten year old filled me in. It was because the other kids were getting presents and he wasn't- So I told him he was the tallest 4 year old I know (He loved that) and I took them to Time Out.

Comfort: Didn't know if I would get good kids or bad kids... lucky for me they were good kids.
