Week 12 - 14:1 March 20th - April 16th
Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian: does not eat meat, fish or fowl. Eats dairy and egg products.
I started off being vegetarian for 2 weeks. I found it quite easy and thought anyone can do it so I decided to extend the challenge to a month. With a couple of days to go I am really starting to notice the difference being vegetarian is having on my diet and body. I am very hungry and I’m starting to get tired easily even though I’m making a very concentrate effort to eat very big meals.
It has been a very interesting experiment, which has helped reintroduce me to the variety of food that is available these days. It has also tested my cooking skills with a couple of attempts at some ‘different creations’. I can't wait for Monday and nice meaty pie... This is a quick list of some of the food I have enjoyed over the last month: Spiced vegetable kebabs with jasmine rice and salad, Vegetable curry pie, Indian styled coleslaw, cheese and pumpkin crepes with winter vegetables, Mexican Nachos, Mixed Herbs potatoes, Pumpkin Soup, a mixture of great breads, Rice pudding, yogurts, Apple Pie (Yummy)...
Comfort: No pies, no meat lovers pizza... argh
