An early morning wake up and an early morning mini-bus ride was all worth it. I was told if it was a clear day I would get an amazing view. They where sure right – I could see for miles with the Valley of the Kings nearby and the desert in the distance. I even got a birds eye view of the morning activities in an Egyptian village.
I got the craziest surprise when I looked across into the other balloon basket and there was a friend I hadn’t seen in over 8 years – small world.
The take off was smooth; once the balloon reaches its soaring height it’s very quiet and peaceful. The landing was a different story completely. You had to squat down and brace yourself – all very graceful.
