Week 36-1 September 6th
"As a mentor, your role is to build a trusting partnership with your student and to assist them to set and achieve their goals. For 12 months, you'll meet with them once a fortnight and catch up each week on the phone."
Update: I have finished my training to be a mentor as part of Project K. Due to other commitments I will not be commencing as a mentor next year (but I still hope to do it in the near future). I have learnt so much from the training. Especially about myself and that you don't have to change to be a role model - just be yourself. I highly recommend it to anyone and it's great fun! I have also had a couple of emails form people who are looking to volunteer for different organizations - Good on you.
(The idea of this challenge is to volunteer some of my time. So I found the best place to start for this was the Volunteer Office. They have volunteer positions for everything you can think off. From collecting for charity to delivering meals on wheels. I think everyone should volunteer.
Thank you to Terrance and Kate at Project K for their passion, energy and great dinners.
Comfort: Commitment

That is great inspiration - I must admit actually - after seeing your mentoring efforts on your blog - it inspired me to do something like that too - so have been in touch with Project K to investigate - but am a tad nervous / unsure I would be what they were after. I suspect I should get out of my comfort zone more often! – Annie
